Church Doctrine and Values

Foundational Beliefs
True Faith Church International was established as a Spiritual Church, revering God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. The teachings of the Church are firmly rooted in both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, which serve as the primary sources of scriptural authority. Worshipers observe the Sabbath on Saturday, in accordance with instructions received by Elder Samuel Brako from the Holy Spirit.

Reverence in Worship
Elder Samuel emphasized the importance of treating the church meeting place as sacred, reflecting God’s directives to Moses (Exodus 3:5) and Joshua (Joshua 5:15) to remove their sandals when approaching Him. As a sign of reverence, church members remove their sandals whenever they enter the sanctuary or participate in prayer services.

Ministry Guidelines
The Church adheres to guidelines established in the New Testament regarding ordination. Only men are ordained as pastors and bishops, and they lead prayers during religious gatherings, in alignment with 1 Timothy 2:8-14. Through this doctrine, Elder Samuel ordained numerous pastors from across the then Gold Coast (now Ghana).

Baptism and Membership
New converts are required to confess their sins during baptism, which is performed through total immersion for both adults and children. Initially, members were not obligated to pay tithes or regular offerings, and tithing remains prohibited, with weekly collections being voluntary. As pastors and deacons are not compensated with salaries or allowances, they are encouraged to seek livelihoods independently. The Church places great emphasis on using African melodies in worship, with songs sung in local languages and minimal use of musical instruments. During Holy Communion, water and non-alcoholic beverages are used instead of wine.

Organizational Structure
The Church is organized around four main ministries: The Pastoral Ministry, The Prophetic Ministry, The Evangelism Ministry, and The Music and Song Ministration Ministry. These ministries work in harmony to promote the overall growth of the Church. Each ministry is led by individuals filled with faith, wisdom, and the Holy Spirit. The Head of the Church, often referred to as the overseer or superintendent, is appointed through prayer and divine guidance. Historically, the title used for leaders was “Opanin,” meaning “Elder,” and in recent decades, titles such as bishops and apostles have been adopted.

Inclusion of Women
Women play vital roles in the Church's organization, particularly within the Prophetic Ministry and the Singing and Songs Ministration Ministry.

Dress Code
Church members are encouraged to avoid costly apparel and worldly appearances. Men wear long robes—white for Sabbath days and red for all other occasions—with an emphasis on modesty. Women are required to cover their heads to maintain a good relationship with God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the angels, as outlined in 1 Corinthians 11:2-16, 1 Timothy 2:9, and 1 Peter 3:3-6.

Core Teachings
Elder Samuel Brako often preached on themes of Love, Charity, Holiness, and Righteousness, emphasizing the importance of these values in the life of every believer.
